The Chaise Longue LC 4 is the only one of his furniture designs to which Le Corbusier himself contributed intensively. He called it a "relaxing machine" and emphasized the fact that it is continuously adjustable without involving any mechanism. Gravity alone stabilizes the chosen position. And who wants to get up anyway.
At steelform we offer a detailed reproduction of the original of the probably most famous design classic by Le Corbusier. Just like all our furniture the Corbusier lounger is manufactured by hand in Italy only from the best materials.
|Close up of the bolster. Covered with pleasantly scented smooth aniline leather and filled with natural down. All seams are impeccably finished and welted.||The frame is made from seamlessly drawn steel of 25mm diameter. All welding joints are carefully sanded and polished by hand before the frame is copper and nickel plated and receives a final 35 micron chrome plating.|
|The foam filled padding is supported by broad textile straps.|
The diameter of the tubes and dimension of the frame are as per the original design. The crossbeams swivel freely via a complex bearing rather then being fixed externally by an Allen Screw.

It shouldn´t look like this! Picture of a cheap copy out of stainless steel, with wire springs and a disfigured frame. The connoisseur can make out at a glance that here money was saved at the wrong end.
