Le Corbusier Furniture

Le Corbusier is without doubt the most famous architect of the past century.
Being as much an engineer as an artist and philosopher he took large influence in the modernist style.
His furniture designs were meant as "tools for living", such as he regarded his buildings as "housing machines". Purest functionalism
Le Corbusier however had great difficulties in having his furniture designs manufactured and did not follow this up untilk Heidi managed to have the first small series made in the late 1950ies. It was only but another twenty years later that the Le Corbusier furniture finally had a huge success.
